Truffle Madness Special

Truffled Mashed Potatoes

Ingredients

  • 1 kg of potatoes, peeled and cut into chunks
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 1/2 cup whole milk or heavy cream
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • 2 tablespoons TRUFFLE MADNESS WHITE TRUFFLE OIL (BLACK if you prefer)
  • Chopped fresh chives or parsley for garnish (optional)

Instructions

Boil the Potatoes:

  • Place the potato chunks in a large pot and cover with cold water. Bring to a boil over medium-high heat and cook until the potatoes are fork-tender, about 15-20 minutes.

Drain and Mash:

  • Drain the cooked potatoes and return them to the pot. Mash the potatoes using a potato masher or a ricer until smooth.

Add Butter and Milk:

  • In a small saucepan, heat the butter and milk (or heavy cream) over low heat until the butter is melted. Add this mixture to the mashed potatoes and stir until well combined.

Season with Salt and Pepper:

  • Season the mashed potatoes with salt and black pepper to taste. Remember to start with a little salt and add more if needed.

Add Truffle Oil:

  • Drizzle the truffle oil over the mashed potatoes. Start with a smaller amount and adjust to your liking, as truffle oil can have a strong flavour.

Mix Well:

  • Mix the truffle oil into the mashed potatoes until evenly distributed. Taste and adjust the seasoning if necessary.

Garnish and Serve:

  • Optional: Garnish the truffle mashed potatoes with chopped fresh chives or parsley for a burst of colour and added flavour.

Serve Warm:

  • Serve the truffle mashed potatoes immediately while they are warm.

These truffle mashed potatoes make an excellent side dish for special occasions or holiday meals. The truffle oil adds a distinctive and luxurious flavour that elevates the dish. Adjust the quantities of truffle oil and seasonings according to your taste preferences.
